Safety Awareness

The Clara Schools HSCL scheme organised a Safety Awareness Week in conjunction  with St Vincent de Paul. There were lots of great guest speakers throughout the week. On the 5th of December we held a jersey day in school to promote the Tractor Run for St. Vincent De Paul on the 8th of December. All donations to SVP would be greatly appreciated.

AgriKidz

On Monday we had our first guest speaker for Safety Awareness Week.  Alma Jordan from Agri Kidz discussed all things farm safety with our first year students. Thanks also to W.R Shaw for lending us one of their New Holland Tractors.

Firesafety

On day two of our Safety Awareness Week, a team led by Philip Keegan came from the local Fire station. There was huge emphasis about fire safety around Christmas. Philip and his crew demonstrated the risks chip pans pose to our homes if not monitored. Thank you lads for visiting our school.

Anthony Flanagan

On Wednesday, Anthony Flanagan, a farm accident survivor, came to our school to promote safety awareness with our students and to encourage resilience amongst our students. Thank you Anthony for your time. You were truly inspirational.

Jersey Day for SVP

On Thursday we celebrated Jersey Day to support St. Vincent de Paul’s upcoming Tractor Run in Clara on the 8th of December. Best of luck to SVP in their fundraising efforts over the weekend. If you would like to donate you can donate to the QR code on the poster or attend the tractor run and donate to circulating buckets on the day.

First Aid Training

On the last day of our Safety Awareness Week, we welcomed Barry Flynn and his colleagues to conduct a First Aid Course to our TY students. Thursday evening, we welcomed parents to a talk with Barry, which parents found very interesting. Thank you Barry.
