Boys National Cup Semi-final

10 Oct, 2022 | Sport

On Tuesday 4th October, the boys’ minor soccer team played their All-Ireland semi- final in Tipperary against … , from Limerick. A bus of supporters with all 2nd years accompanied the team to give them all the strength possible. Everybody was extremely excited on the bus.

Kick-off was at 1pm and the weather conditions were ideal for a great game. ASCN scored within the first few minutes, with a fantastic goal by Ayden Kelly giving the team the early boost they needed to enter the match in great spirits. The boys took advantage of the momentum and scored another two goals before half-time.

In the second half, the team were more motivated than ever to win the game. Limerick had a good reaction in the first fifteen minutes and scored, tightening the score to 3-2. Thankfully, the Clara boys were vigilant and responded with two more goals by Dylan Dunne and Jake Lynch with a final score of 5-2.

ASCN must now train hard before facing the All-Ireland final in a few weeks’ time. If they play as well as they did today, they have a great chance to become All-Ireland champions. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
