Active Week – Part 1

9 Apr, 2025 | ASF, Sport, Transition Year

Day One

Active Week kicked off on Monday the 7th with great energy in our school. The Active School Flag team launched the week by organizing a rounders tournament for all 5th-year students. There were impressive skills on display, and everyone enjoyed the event.

Later in the day, we were delighted to welcome students from the Brosna Centre to join in the fun with individual challenges, an obstacle course, and classic games like Duck Duck Goose 🦆and an egg & spoon race 🐣. It was brilliant to see such great energy, teamwork, and positive vibes all around. Huge well done to everyone involved!

🎯 DUNK-A-TEACHER! 🎯

Things got splashy during Active Week as our Active School Flag team hosted one of the most unforgettable events yet — a Dunk Tank Challenge! 😆💧

Students lined up to test their aim, and with a solid throw, got the chance to send their teachers and staff members plunging into a tank of cold water! It was a hilarious, one-of-a-kind experience filled with laughter, cheers, and some epic splashdowns! 💥

A massive THANK YOU to all the teachers and staff who bravely stepped up (and sat down!) to take the plunge — you made the day so special! 🙌❤️

Day Two

Tuesday marked Day 2 of Active Week, and things got intense as our Active School Flag team hosted a 3rd Year Soccer Tournament that had it all — skill, passion, and edge-of-your-seat drama! 😮👏

From slick passes to bold tackles, the level of play was unreal. The matches were full of fierce competition and serious sportsmanship — a credit to all the students involved. 🙌

After some very competitive matches, it all came down to a penalty shootout… and let’s just say, the pressure was real! ⚽

Huge thanks to the Active School Flag team for keeping the energy high and the games running smoothly. We also hosted a fun egg and spoon race for all the competitors.

To wrap up Day 2 of Active Week, our entire school hit the dance floor—aka the playing field—for a feel-good, sun-soaked dance party! 💃🕺

With the sun shining and spirits high, students and staff came together for a whole-school dance event during the last class of the day. The Active School Flag team took center stage and led the way with classics like the Cha Cha Slide and the Macarena—and yes, the moves were on point! 😄👏

There were laughs, great vibes, and a serious sense of community. Huge shoutout to everyone who joined in and especially to our Active Team & Staff members for bringing the energy and making it one to remember!
