Active Week – Part 2

11 Apr, 2025 | ASF, Sport, Transition Year

Day 4

Day 4 of Active Week was a full-on festival of sport, and our 6th Years kicked things off with an epic tournament lineup featuring Olympic Handball, Rounders, and Soccer! ⚽🥎🤾‍♂️ The skill, teamwork, and competitive spirit on display were top-notch — hats off to everyone who took part! 💪👏

But we weren’t done yet…

To wrap up the day, our TY students took the field for a Tag Rugby Tournament, bringing serious energy and enthusiasm to the pitch! 🏉⚡

And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better… The Easter Bunny made a surprise visit! 🐰✨ Spreading smiles, laughs, and a few sweet treats, it was the perfect way to end a day packed with fun, fitness, and school spirit.

Huge thanks to the Active School Flag team for keeping the momentum going all week long! 🙌

🥇🏆 Teacher Showdown at Lunchtime! 🏆🥇

As part of Active Week, the Active School Flag team turned up the fun with some brilliant lunchtime activities just for staff — and the competitive spirit was real! 😄💪

🎯 Mr. Rickard showed precision under pressure, taking 1st place in the Crossbar Challenge!

🥄 Ms. Delaney balanced her way to victory in the Egg & Spoon Race like a pro!

👢 And Mr. Dunning launched his way to glory in the Welly Throw with a throw that will go down as a lunchtime legend!

Huge well done to everyone who got involved — it was great to see staff getting active, having a laugh, and leading by example. 👏

🏐🔥 A Grand Finale to Active Week! 🔥🏐

Friday marked the final day of Active Week, and we closed it out in style with an action-packed 1st & 2nd Year GAA Tournament, hosted by our incredible Active School Flag team! 💪☘️

The pitch was alive with energy as students showcased impressive skill, top-class teamwork, and true sportsmanship from the first throw-in to the final whistle. 👏👏 Whether it was a slick pass, a brave block, or a last-minute point, there was no shortage of standout moments! Well done to the yellow team and their Managers Ava C, Ava S & Jess who were worthy winners on the day.

It was the perfect way to wrap up an unforgettable week of fun, fitness, and school spirit. Huge thanks to everyone who took part throughout the week—and especially to our Active Team for making it all happen! 🏅
