1st Year Girls Soccer

19 Dec, 2024 | Sport

Our 1st year girls team recently had two matches.

Match 1 saw our team travel to Dublin where they played James Street CBS in the ‘B’ Cup. The girls started off strong with an early goal from Holly Grennan. The team played some really good football but James Street were more clinical on front of goal. Bethany McKeon scored late on for us but this defeat resulted in us being knocked out of the cup.

Match 2 saw our team make the short trip to Athlone where they played Our Lady Bower in Athlone Town Stadium, in the first round of the league. Once again our girls played some good football and they are definitely starting to settle as a team. Kayleigh Dolan scored our goal but Our Lady Bower finished stronger and the game ended 3-1.

We look forward to two more league matches in January.
